SunTec Run for NISH – A new benchmark in Social Responsibility
Trivandrum, March 29, 2008 –You must be aware that every city, all over the world is recognized by the events that happen there. Be it the Edinburgh festival, the Woodstock, the October Fest or the Boston or Mumbai marathon, or Austin 10K Run, it is events that enhance the image of a city.
SunTec Run for NISH not only proved to be a boost to the image of Trivandrum City but also contributed in no small measure in spreading awareness in the society about the need to empower differently-abled children.
The Run was organized as a part of SunTec’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in the central part of the city from the company’s Knowledge Centre at Vazhuthakkad to its corporate office in Kuravankonam.
Participation of more than 700 people from all walks of life including young professionals, elderly citizens, children and faculty of NISH and their parents, SunTec employees, celebrity athletes, and leaders of SunTec and NISH made the Run a great success. In addition roller skaters, cyclists and athletes from Kerala Sports Council added allure.

SunTec Run for NISH has been able to lay emphasis about the crucial necessity for early intervention in the lives of differently-abled children and how early detection and intervention can go a long way into the effective rehabilitation of these children.
Dr. K.N. Pavithran, Executive Director, NISH said, “SunTec’s gesture is heart-warming and I am sure we will see more and more corporates and individuals take up the noble cause”.
SunTec’s employees and the management have already earmarked a financial contribution for NISH. In addition the public can contribute for the cause by dropping a cheque in favour of NISH at any of SunTec’s offices in Trivandrum or NISH’s. The contributions from SunTec and public will be handed over to NISH on 14th of April.
