Technical Writer
- Job Profile
- As a Technical Writer, the incumbent will work closely with the Product Requirement, Design and Engineering teams to develop product documentation that is technically accurate, complete, appropriate, readable and targeted towards a Global audience.
- Experience
- 6 months to 3 years
- Fresh graduates with a minimum of 3 months exposure to technical writing, either as part of the curriculum or training, can also apply.
- Qualifications
- Any graduate/post-graduate (B Tech, MCA, Masters in English, Mass Communication, Journalism or Sciences preferred)
- Technical Skills
- Adobe Frame Maker, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, SnagIT (Mandatory)
- Adobe Captivate, Robo Help, Adobe Photoshop, HTML, XML (Desirable)
- General Skills
- Excellent command over the English language; attention to minute details
- Excellent information structuring skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills – should be able to interface effectively with individuals across departments / functional areas
- Ability to present complex concepts in simple and clear language
- Be able to identify the possible processes / tasks for which the product will be used and document accordingly -- No menu-orientation, please!
- Be independent (work reliably without close supervision; make decisions without being unduly influenced by others) and responsible (be accountable for mistakes, warn stakeholders about potential delays)

- Exposure to industry-standard Style Guides like MS Manual of Style, Read Me First!, and Chicago Manual of Style
- Basic understanding of Java and Database technologies
- Experience in Finance and/or Telecom domains will be a plus
- Responsibilities
- Creation and maintenance of documentation deliverables like User, Configuration and Administration Manuals, Product Description Documents and Functionality Description Documents
- Produce high-quality technical documentation according to the set standards, templates and guidelines of SunTec
- Actively participate in all the phases of SDLC and DDLC
- Gain/upgrade technical expertise on a continuous basis in the assigned product areas
- Create and maintain terminology and glossary entries related to domains like Finance and Telecom
- Contribute to the usability of the products by checking the user interface text, messages and design
