System Engineer (Unix Administrator)
- Knowledge and Skills
- UNIX and Linux Administration, especially on HP-UX, Solaris, AIX and RHEL Platforms
- Good Knowledge of setting up VMware ESX and nPars and vPars
- Experience in setting up Oracle Databases on Linux platforms
- Experience in LVM, Veritas Volume Manager and other File Systems
- Knowledge of MC Service Guard and other Clustering Platforms
- Experience in installing, configuring, maintaining and monitoring applications on Unix Servers
- Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting and tuning of UNIX kernels
- Knowledge of Core Oracle DBA and App Servers like Websphere
- Knowledge of SAN and Storage, back-ups, IP networking, performance analysis and security tuning is desired
- RHCE/Solaris/AIX/HP-UX -- any of these certifications is mandatory
- 3 years experience working in an IT support environment
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, maintaining and monitoring of Unix Servers
- Installing, configuring, maintaining and monitoring of databases and other applications
- Basic Windows Server administration and configuration
- Basic network administration and configuration
- Provide consultancy services to functions and customers
- Work with customer infrastructure and fix issues remotely
- Work on on-site customer projects to provide consultation and service
